Culinary Lavender Hidcote or Violet Intrigue
4 oz of culinary lavender (Hidcote or Violet Intrigue) harvested and hand processed this July at our farm in Port Sanilac Michigan. We use organic farming practices.
Culinary lavender can be used in endless ways to enhance sweet or savory dishes. We use it as a meat rub, in baked goods (cookies, cakes and breads), on roasted potatoes and boiled with rice. A simple syrup can be used to flavor drinks or drizzle on ice cream. Enhance salad dressings, oils, vinegar, marinades and vinaigrettes.
The Hidcote has a slightly bolder more fruity flavor then the violet intrigue, which is more delicate and flowery.
